TARGET AUDIENCE
This educational initiative is intended for primary care physicians, advanced practice professionals (nurse practitioners and physician assistants), nurses, and diabetes educators who care for patients with diseases and disorders of the endocrine system.
STATEMENT OF NEED
As endocrine disorders are on the rise, it’s very important that primary care providers take a role in patient management. Bone, obesity, lipids, diabetes, and thyroid are covered in short modules that combine teaching slides with videotaped faculty panel discussions.
ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
CREDIT DESIGNATION
Physicians: The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Maintenance of Certification:Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.0 MOC Medical Knowledge point(s) in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC point(s) equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
