Educational Need

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a debilitating and almost uniformly fatal disease. Despite recent progress, the diagnosis and management of IPF remain distinct clinical challenges. In addition, the rapid emergence of scientific evidence has prompted a reexamination of standard clinical approaches. The aim of the PILOT™ initiative is to provide a forum for the open exchange of scientific ideas that results in the timely dissemination of emerging knowledge, facilitates clinical decision making, and improves patient outcomes.

Intended Audience

This educational activity is intended for pulmonologists, pathologists, radiologists, and primary care physicians treating patients with IPF.

Learning Objective

After reviewing the case, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common clinical and radiologic features associated with the representative interstitial lung disease case presented herein which will enhance multidisciplinary collaboration

Accreditation Statement

The France Foundation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Statement

The France Foundation designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity is eligible for CME credit from October 2007 through October 31, 2008.
