Program Description:
Wrap up your ATS experience with a pre-meeting social event. Relax and challenge your friends and colleagues in a nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) trivia contest, and enjoy cocktail hour before we begin. Then join Drs. David Griffith, Kevin Winthrop, and Ted Marras as they dive into the latest emerging therapies, new opportunities, and new challenges with NTM. Managing NTM lung disease has been called a “lengthy, complicated, and time-consuming process.” Patients with cystic fibrosis, as well as those with non-CF bronchiectasis, are at higher risk for NTM lung infection, as are patients who are immunosuppressed (eg, HIV infection, hematological malignancy). Screening for, diagnosis, and management of NTM lung disease remains challenging and often suboptimal. Faculty will share their current experience with clinical cases.
